Ain't No Mo' playwright Jordan E. Cooper, creator of {my lingerie play} Diana Oh, and writer Jacqueline Woodson have joined the lineup for The Public Theater's upcoming Queer & Now at the Delcacorte Theater in Central Park June 17. The free, one-night-only event, which is part of the Off-Broadway theatre's Public Forum series, will be an evening of music, poetry, prose, and theatre in honor of Pride.
Also new to the lineup are Murray Hill, Jari Jones, and The Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps Color Guard. They join Jomama Jones, who will host the evening, along with Trevor Bachman, Kate Bornstein, Lea DeLaria, Ryan J. Haddad, The Jerriese Johnson Gospel Choir, Erin Markey, Darnell Moore, Peppermint, Toshi Reagon, Conrad Ricamora, Aneesh Sheth, and Chase Strangio.
Public Forum: Queer & Now will feature readings of pieces by James Baldwin, Audre Lorde, and Harvey Milk and excerpts from iconic Public Theater productions, including The Normal Heart, Fun Home, and more. Kickoff is at 8 PM.
The event will pay tribute to the legacy of resistance and the ongoing fight for LGBTQ+ equality and pride. Queer & Now is part of the Public's commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

The 2021 concert preceded the acclaimed Off-Broadway staging of Creel's musical inspired by his time wandering the collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Original Hairspray cast members Laura Bell Bundy, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Kerry Butler star in an evening of songs and anecdotes from their careers.
