Tony Award-winning Broadway composer Jason Robert Brown will perform two concerts, at 7 and 9:30 PM December 7 at The Sorting Room at the Wallis Annenberg Performing Arts Center in Beverly Hills, California.
Brown’s concert incorporates music from his shows, such as The Last Five Years, Parade, The Bridges of Madison County, 13, Honeymoon in Vegas, Songs for a New World, and more, and also includes new works in development. (Brown famously tried out original compositions for the recent run of Prince of Broadway at a similar concert gig in New York before landing on the final number “Do The Work.”)
Brown won two Tony Awards for 2014’s The Bridges of Madison County (Best Score and Best Orchestrations) and a Tony Award for his score of Parade in 1999. He is also the winner of five Drama Desk Awards—Outstanding Music and Orchestrations for Bridges, Outstanding Music and Lyrics for The Last Five Years, and Outstanding Music for Parade.
