Second Stage Theatre’s 35th anniversary production of Torch Song Trilogy—now simply named Torch Song—celebrated its Off-Broadway opening October 19. Harvey Fierstein’s Tony-winning play returns to the New York stage with a newly edited script and all-new direction by Moisés Kaufman.
Michael Urie stars as Arnold Beckoff (the role playwright Fierstein originated) opposite Mercedes Ruehl as his mother. The cast also features Jack Difalco (Marvin’s Room) as David, Ward Horton (Pure Genius) as Ed, Roxanna Hope Radja (Frost/Nixon) as Laurel, and Michael Rosen (On The Town) as Alan.
