Idina Menzel, who won a Tony Award for her performance as Elphaba in the hit musical Wicked, announced her engagement to actor Aaron Lohr via Twitter.
As if this week couldn't get any better I have wonderful news... my man and I are engaged! We are so happy. It's a beautiful time.

Lohr was seen in the 2005 film adaptation of Rent alongside Menzel; he played Steve in the Life Support group. He also performed with Menzel in Michael John LaChiusa’s See What I Wanna See and was seen in the original Off-Broadway production of the pop opera bare.
The actress was previously married to Rent co-star Taye Diggs, but the two separated in late 2013 after ten years of marriage. At the time, Menzel was starring in the Broadway musical If/Then, in which she sang nightly about “Always Starting Over.”
“Art is literally imitating life for me,” Menzel told Playbill at that time. “Without going into my personal life too much, I’m definitely going through some major personal things and have to rethink all of the choices I've made and think about starting over...”
Menzel spoke with Playbill.com again after that career-defining year, saying that performing in If/Then was her “salvation.” Click here to read that interview.
