Ahead of the Off-Broadway bow of Scotland, PA this fall at Roundabout Theatre Company, composer-lyricist Adam Gwon debuted a selection of songs from the upcoming musical during his concert show An Evening With Adam Gwon at New York City’s The Green Room 42.
Audiences can now watch performances previewing three songs from that musical: “What We’ve Got,” sung by Scotland, PA, star Taylor Iman Jones (Head Over Heels), “Why I Love Football” sung by Ben Fankhauser (Newsies), and “Clairvoyant” sung by Dave Thomas Brown (The Book of Mormon) and Jones. Adapted from Billy Morrissette's indie film of the same name (and William Shakespeare's Macbeth), the musical comedy tells the story of an ambitious—and bloody-thirsty—couple (the McBeths) running a burger joint in a sleepy Pennsylvania town.
Scotland, PA features music and lyrics by Gwon and a book by Michael Mitnick (Sex Lives of Our Parents); Lonny Price will direct the production, which will feature choreography by Josh Rhodes.
