Have You Gone Ham4Ham? Our 10 Favorite Hamilton Pre-Show Performances (Video) | Playbill

News Have You Gone Ham4Ham? Our 10 Favorite Hamilton Pre-Show Performances (Video) For the first month of performances, the Broadway musical Hamilton had a show before the show.

Composer/star Lin-Manuel Miranda would greet hopefuls on line for each performance's discount ticket lottery with an impromptu performance on the steps of the Richard Rodgers Theatre, sometimes improvised, and often including guests from his or neighboring shows. Playbill.com saved footage of these shows, known as "Ham4Ham," and we herewith present our Top 10 Favorites, as chosen by our intern, Joe Gambino, who was tasked with keeping track of them for the website.

During previews there were daily performances, but now that the show is off and running Ham4Ham performances happen only before the second show of a two-show day and on special occasions.

Miranda's new musical about founding father Alexander Hamilton, opened on Broadway Aug. 6.
