NBC has revealed further casting for its December live Broadcast of the Tony-winning hit musical Hairspray.

Dove Cameron, who plays identical twin sisters on the Disney Channel series Liv and Maddie, has been tapped to star as mean girl Amber Von Tussle, while Teen heartthrob Link Larkin will be played by Garrett Clayton, known for his roles in the Teen Beach Movie franchise.

The casting of Cameron and Clayton is a wise move on the part of Hairspray Live! producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who are positioned to entice a younger viewing demographic.

Hairspray also stars Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein recreating his Tony-winning Broadway role as Edna Turnblad, as well as Kristin Chenoweth as Velma Von Tussle, Martin Short as Wilbur Turnblad, pop star Ariana Grande as Penny Pingleton, Derek Hough as TV host Corny Collins, Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson as Motormouth Maybelle and newcomer Maddie Baillio as Tracy Turnblad.

Hairspray Live! will air December 7 at 8 PM.
