The 1997 Anastasia film celebrated its 20th anniversary November 29 with a special onstage performance of “Journey to the Past” at the Broadhurst Theatre, where the musical version of the animated film plays.

The Broadway musical’s star, Christy Altomare, sang Lynn Aherns and Stephen Flaherty’s iconic song alongside footage from the film.

The Broadway production of Anastasia opened April 24 featuring Altomare as Anya, Derek Klena as Dmitry, John Bolton as Vlad, Caroline O’Connor as Lily, Ramin Karimloo as Gleb, and Tony nominee for Anastasia Mary Beth Peil as Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna.
