Before the musical adaptation of Moulin Rouge! kicks off in Boston, check out the moves that will hit the stage thanks to choreographer Sonya Tayeh in the video above.
“There are so many different dance styles in this theatre production—the historical can-can, contemporary forms, jazz, classical musical theatre,” Tayeh says of the Broadway-bound show’s eclectic sound, which includes the title's iconic use of "Lady Marmalade."
She adds: “It’s like a candy shop.”
As previously reported, the stage adaptation of Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 film will begin previews July 10 at the Emerson Colonial Theatre. The Alex Timbers-helmed production was initially slated to begin June 27, though a construction-related incident delayed the musical’s premiere.

Also featured in the cast are six-time Tony nominee Danny Burstein as Harold Zidler, Tony and Olivier nominee Sahr Ngaujah as Toulouse-Lautrec, Tam Mutu as the Duke of Monroth, Ricky Rojas as Santiago, and Robyn Hurder as Nini.
