looseKANONdance is set to present the world premiere of P L A S T I C, an evening of contemporary performance art, at the Judson Memorial Church August 17. The production, helmed by artistic director Kanon Sapp, features an ensemble of five female dancers crafting a dystopian reality through movement.

According to production notes, P L A S T I C invites the audience “into a chilling, inoperative doll factory. The dolls were intricately manufactured to depict a cliche, wholesome family in the 1950s. However, hidden is a volatile environment saturated in control, stereotypical gender and family roles, unachievable standards of physical beauty, and punishment.”

Founded in 2017, looseKANONdance is a boutique contemporary dance company, investigating alternate performance realities through movement and the female perspective. For more information, visit www.loosekanondance.com.
