Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents In the Heights by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes in the Quadracci Powerhouse this September 18–October 28. The production, directed by associate Artistic Director May Adrales with music direction by Dan Kazemi and choreography by William Carlos Angulo, is set to officially open September 22.
The cast features Karmine Alers as Camila, Yassmin Alers as Abuela Claudia, Ryan Alvarado as Usnavi, Lillian Castillo as Daniela, Tony Chiroldes as Kevin, Henry Gainza as Piragua Guy, Nicolas Garza as Sonny, Stephanie Gomerez as Vanessa, Alyssa V. Gomez as Carla, David Kaverman as Benny, Sophia Macías as Nina, and Ulyber Mangune as Graffiti Pete.
The creative team also includes set design by Tim Mackabee, lighting design by Robert J. Aguilar, costume design by David Reynoso, sound design by Megan B. Henninger, music supervision by Associate Artist John Tanner, with associate music director and conductor Eugenio A. Vargas, associate choreographer Courtney Arango, casting by Frank Honts and Dale Brown, and stage managed by Michael B. Paul.
