Former Dear Evan Hansen understudy Colton Ryan swung by the Playbill studio to give us a taste of his upcoming appearance in the concert Broadway Sings: The Beatles. Watch the Broadway actor perform a new arrangement of the hit Beatles song “With A Little Help From My Friends” in the video above.
Ryan departed Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway, where he covered the title role, Connor Murphy, and Jared Kleinman, November 26.
Broadway Sings: The Beatles is a one-night-only concert featuring Broadway stars performing new arrangements of Beatles hits by Joshua Stephen Kartes, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra. The concert will take place December 4 at 7:30 PM at the Highline Ballroom in New York City.
Completing the lineup are Felicia Boswell (Memphis), Steel Burkhardt (Aladdin), Dawn Cantwell (Wicked), Christine Dwyer (Wicked), Alyssa Fox (Frozen), Drew Gehling (Waitress), Caitlin Houlahan (Waitress), Brittney Johnson (Sunset Boulevard), Alison Luff (Escape to Margaritaville), Corey Mach (Godspell), Jelani Remy (The Lion King), Ciara Renée (Pippin), Nic Rouleau (The Book of Mormon), Antoine L. Smith (Miss Saigon), and Alysha Umphress (On the Town).
The evening will feature takes on Beatles favorites such as “Let it Be”, “Yesterday, “Hey Jude”, “Blackbird”, and “Come Together”.
