The Kitchen will present Tina Satter's Is This A Room in January 2019. The show is a staging of the verbatim transcript of the June 2017 FBI interrogation that led to the arrest of former Air Force linguist Reality Winner, charged with leaking evidence of Russian interference in the U.S. voting system.
Performances of Is This a Room will begin January 4 and continue through January 12. Emily Davis (Singlet) will star as Reality, who is now 26 and in prison serving the longest sentence ever for a person accused of an unauthorized disclosure.
Becca Blackwell, Pete Simpson, and T.L. Thompson complete the cast.
Is This a Room is created by and directed by Tina Satter. The performance features an original score by Sanae Yamada; costume design by Enver Chakartash; set design by Parker Lutzl lighting design by Thomas Dunn; sculptural design by Amanda Villalobos; and production and stage management by Randi Rivera. Assistant direction and stage management is by Mariana Catalina.
