The 17-track CD boasts such theatre favorites as Colm Wilkinson, who created the role of Valjean both in London's West End and on Broadway; Judy Kuhn, the three-time Tony nominee who was Broadway's first Cosette; Terrence Mann, who returns to the role of Javert Feb. 4; Frances Ruffelle, who won a Tony Award for her role as Eponine; and Broadway veteran Randy Graff, who portrays the ill-fated Fantine. Based on Victor Hugo's classic novel, Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's Les Misérables concerns the struggles of Jean Valjean and the self-righteous Inspector Javert. The musical, featuring additional lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, bowed on Broadway on March 12, 1987, and will end its record-breaking run March 15, three days after the production celebrates its 16th anniversary on The Great White Way.
