Ghost Quartet, the haunting song cycle from Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 creator Dave Malloy, has extended its run at New York Theatre Workshop through November 5.

The production is presented as part of Next Door at NYTW, a new works program that provides a creative home for artists and theatre companies who produce their own work. Performances began October 5. Tickets for the extension go on sale October 11 at noon.

Annie Tippe directs a cast that features Great Comet cast members Brittain Ashford and Gelsey Bell, who are joined by cellist Brent Arnold, and designer Christopher Bowser.

The production is characterizes as a “surreal chamber musical… about love, death and whisky. A camera breaks and four friends drink, in four interwoven narratives spanning seven centuries: a warped fairy tale about two sisters, a treehouse astronomer and a lazy evil bear; a retelling of Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher"; a purgatorial intermezzo about Scheherazade; and a contemporary fable about a subway murder.”

Performances take place in NYTW’s Fourth Street Theatre, a newly renovated 65-seat black box theatre that serves as a flexible work and performance space.
