Ben Vereen, Chita Rivera, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Megan Hilty, and Cheyenne Jackson are among Broadway luminaries scheduled to light up the May 24 Concert for America: Stand Up, Sing Out! in Los Angeles, which benefits five national organizations working to protect human rights.
The fifth concert in the monthly fundraising series will also feature performances by Rachel Bloom, Helen Reddy, Wayne Brady, Wilson Cruz, Dan Bucatinsky, Barrett Foa, Juan Pablo Espinosa, Mary Birdsong, Stacey Oristano, Anthony Federov, Quinn Cummings, and Mary Bond Davis at 7 PM in Royce Hall on the University of California campus.
The concert will be directed by Tony nominee Lisa Mordente. Three previous concerts in the series were done in New York and one in Chicago. The next Concert for America will be held in June in San Francisco. See details here.
For those unable to attend in person, the Los Angeles concert will be broadcast live via Facebook Live and at ConcertsforAmerica.com, beginning at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT.
Created and hosted by Playbill columnist Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley, the Concert for America: Stand Up, Sing Out! series benefits five organizations: Southern Poverty Law Center, National Immigration Law Center, The Sierra Club Foundation, NAACP, and National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The event is created and organized in association with Your Kids, Our Kids, with the support of The Actors Fund. It is co-produced by Joey Monda and Frankie Dailey.
