The world premiere of The Prince of Egypt, a new musical featuring music by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Philip LaZebnik, officially opened October 14. The TheatreWorks Silicon Valley production plays the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts in California through November 5.

Leading the company is Danish native Diluckshan Jeyaratnam as Moses; he will also take on the role at the Fredericia Teater when the musical plays Denmark in 2018 (the adaptation of the 1998 animated film is a co-production between the two theatres).
Joining him in California are Broadway alums Jason Gotay (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, Bring It On) as Ramses, Brennyn Lark (Les Misérables) as Tzipporah, Tom Nelis (Indecent) as Pharaoh Seti, and Christina Sajous (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark) as Queen Tuya, as well as Julia Motyka as Miriam, Will Mann as High Priest Hotep, David Crane as Aaron, Ayelet Firstenberg as Youcheved, Jamila Sabares-Klemm as Nefertari, Paul-Jordan Jansen as Jethro, and Natalie Schroeder and Alexandra Van De Poel alternating in the role of Young Miriam.
