Red Roses, Green Gold, the new musical composed by the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter and featuring music of the Grammy Award-winning band, opened Off-Broadway October 29 at the Minetta Lane Theatre. The musical features a book by Michael Norman Mann and direction and choreography by Rachel Klein. Grateful Dead touring member Jeff Chimenti serves as music supervisor and arranger.
Starring a cast of 8 actor-musicians, Red Roses, Green Gold tells the “fantastical and comedic tale of Jackson Jones and his family of swindlers as they gamble their way to love and riches.”
