Rheaume Crenshaw, Dayna Dantzler, Aisha de Haas, James T. Lane, and Wayne Pretlow lead the cast of Don’t Bother Me, I Can’t Cope, running July 25–28 at City Center as the final production of the 2018 Encores! Off-Center season.

Tony Award winner Savion Glover directs and choreographs the production of the 1971 musical; the company also features Alexandria Bradley, Marshall L. Davis Jr., CK Edwards, Jeffry Foote, Shonica Gooden, Nina Hudson, Marla McReynolds, and Amber Barbee Pickens.

Created by Micki Grant and Vinnette Carroll, Don’t Bother Me, I Can’t Cope is described as a radical and irreverent protest cycle that laid bare the political issues facing the African-American community using gospel, jazz, soul, calypso, and rock to raise voices for change.
