Lewis joined the Cats cast as Grizabella when former Pussycat Doll singer Nicole Scherzinger decided not to continue on in the role—she had joined the production in 2014 for the 12-week run at the West End’s London Palladium.
When Cats closed in 2000 after some 7,500 performances, it was the longest running show in Broadway history. It now ranks fourth behind The Phantom of the Opera, Chicago and The Lion King.
The cast of the revival includes Giuseppe Bausilio as Carbuckety, Jeremy Davis as Skimblehanks, Quentin Earl Darrington as Victor/Old Deuteronomy and Kim Fauré as Demeter. The show’s original director Trevor Nunn returns to the lead a creative team that includes John Napier, Natasha Katz, Mick Potter, and Andy Blankenbuehler.
