“The Boss” will stay on Broadway longer than expected. Springsteen on Broadway, which will mark Bruce Springsteen's Broadway debut, will now run through February 3, 2018. The limited engagement, beginning October 3, was originally set to play for eight weeks only through November 26.
Opening night is scheduled for October 12 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (most recently the home of Broadway's Amélie).
The 20-time Grammy winner will play five performances a week during the originally scheduled run; tickets went on sale the morning of August 30 through Ticketmaster's Verified Fan program. Additional performance times and ticketing information for the extension will be announced shortly.
With less than a thousand seats, the Walter Kerr will play host to one of the most intimate performances the music star has offered in the past 40 years. “I chose Broadway for this project because it has the beautiful old theaters which seemed like the right setting for what I have in mind,” Springsteen said in an earlier statement.
Springsteen on Broadway will feature set design by Heather Wolensky, lighting by Natasha Katz, and sound design by Brian Ronan.
