Atlantic Theater Company has canceled the June 10 performance of Dominique Morisseau’s Skeleton Crew at the Linda Gross Theater due to actor illness. It is the third cancellation in a row, with the June 8 and 9 shows also canceled for the same reason.
Performances are expected to resume June 11 for the Saturday matinee at 2 PM.
“Every effort will be made to ensure ticket holders can be re-booked into another performance prior to the engagement ending on June 19,” a spokesperson for the theatre told Playbill June 8. Should an alternative date not be feasible, guests will receive a full refund.
The acclaimed production officially kicked off its return engagement Off-Broadway May 19 after having played an earlier sold-out run.
The ensemble cast features Jason Dirden (A Raisin in the Sun), Wendell B. Franklin (Speak Truth to the Power), Lynda Gravatt (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Nikiya Mathis (Milk Like Sugar) and Adesola Osakalumi (Fela!).
The play, centered on a makeshift family of workers at an auto plant, is the final installment of Morisseau's Detroit trilogy, which examines her hometown. “Power dynamics shift and they are pushed to the limits of survival,” state press notes. “When the line between blue collar and white collar gets blurred, how far over the lines are they willing to step?”
Ticketholders may call OvationTix at (866) 811-4111 to re-book a performance or visit The Linda Gross Theater box office, located at 336 West 20th Street, New York.
