The original Broadway cast recording of Anastasia will be released in a double-disc vinyl edition from Broadway Records; it will include the new duet arrangement of the Oscar-nominated anthem “Journey to the Past,” featuring stage and screen Anastasia stars Christy Altomare and Liz Callaway.
Set for a December 14 release, the special printing will present the 75-minute Broadway cast recording of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's score across two vinyl albums featuring all-new cover artwork.
As an added bonus, the vinyl edition also includes the new duet arrangement of “Journey to the Past,” featuring Altomare and Callaway. Callaway, who provided the singing vocals for the 1997 animated film of Anastasia, joins Broadway's Altomare on the newly released duet version that features Flaherty on piano. The duet arrangement was written by Benjamin Rauhala.
The special edition will be sold from BroadwayRecords.com and Barnes & Noble (bn.com), where it is currently available for pre-order. It will only be sold in person at the Broadhurst Theatre, where Anastasia continues its run.
