Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give, The Hunger Games) will star opposite André Holland (Moonlight, Broadway's Jitney) in the new Netflix musical drama series The Eddy, according to Deadline.
Damien Chazelle, the Oscar-winning director of La La Land, has teamed up with Tony and Olivier winner Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) to bring the new musical drama to Netflix. Chazelle will direct two of the eight episodes while also serving as an executive producer. Other directors include Houda Benyamina (Divines), Alan Poul (Tales of the City), and Tony and Olivier winner Thorne.
Set in present-day Paris, The Eddy revolves around a club, its owner, the house band, and the chaotic city that surrounds them. Thorne's screenplay will feature dialogue in French, English, and Arabic.
Stenberg has been cast as Holland's teenage daughter Julie.
