The national tour of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical launched January 4 at Chicago's Oriental Theatre.
Chris McCarrell again steps into the role of Percy Jackson; Kristin Stokes, who played Annabeth in the Off-Broadway staging, also reprises her role. Two other actors from the New York production are also part of the touring company: Sarah Beth Pfeifer as Clarice and James Hayden Rodriguez as Luke.
The cast also features Jorrel Javier as Grover and Mr. D, Ryan Knowles as Chiron, and Jalynn Steele as Sally, with Izzy Figueroa, Sam Leicht, and T. Shyvonne Stewart serving as understudies.

In addition to engagements around the country, The Lightning Thief will return to New York City in the spring for a limited run at The Beacon Theatre. The musical will play six performances March 28–31. Tickets for the Beacon Theatre run can be purchased online at BeaconTheatre.com.
The Lightning Thief has a Drama Desk-nominated book by Joe Tracz (the Broadway-bound Be More Chill), music and lyrics by Rob Rokicki, direction by Stephen Brackett, and choreography by Patrick McCollum, with set design by Lee Savage, costume design by Sydney Maresca, Obie Award-winning sound design by Ryan Rumery, lighting design by David Lander, fight direction by Rod Kinter, and orchestrations by Wiley DeWeese and Rob Rokicki.
The musical debuted in 2017 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, where it played an acclaimed, extended run and was nominated for three Drama Desk Awards. The story follows a young man who discovers he is the son of gods, and suddenly has powers he can't control.
