Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of Amy and the Orphans, a new play by Ugly Lies the Bone playwright Lindsey Ferrentino, is now in performances in the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre Off-Broadway. Tony nominee Scott Ellis directs a cast led by Jamie Brewer (American Horror Story), Tony winner Debra Monk (Redwood Curtain, Steel Pier), and Mark Blum (The Assembled Parties).
The play follows three siblings on the road trip of a lifetime. After their father’s death, Maggie and Jacob reunite with Amy, their movie-loving sister who has Down Syndrome, and together, they careen down the Great American Long Island Expressway, navigating strip malls, traffic jams, and family drama.
Completing the cast of Amy and the Orphans are Vanessa Aspillaga, Diane Davis, and Josh McDermitt.
