Sarasota, Florida's Asolo Rep presented a sneak peek at Josephine, a world-premiere musical bound for Broadway. Deborah Cox stars in the title role as the groundbreaking entertainer Josephine Baker. The musical takes place in Paris between 1939 and 1945 when Baker was a cabaret star, had an affair with a Swedish Crown Prince and served in the French Resistance. Joey McKneely directs and choreographs the production. Here, Cox performs “Est-Cé Que, C'est Vous?” and Kevin Earley performs “Who Cares.” The production plays the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts, from April 27 to May 29.
