In the final week of the world-premiere engagement of the stage version of Disney's Newsies, cast member Ryan Breslin takes us backstage at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse to see how the cast — including star Jeremy Jordan — prepares on a two-show day. First the Newsies ready themselves for the evening show with a hearty lunch that includes gigantic milkshakes, then they slip into layers of costumes, prepare their voices with some strange vocal exercises (and steam) — and share their thoughts on the special qualities of the Alan Menken, Jack Feldman and Harvey Fierstein musical, which runs through Oct. 16.
