Mark Rylance stars in William Shakespeare's
Twelfth Night as the love-struck noblewoman Olivia. The play (presented in repertory with
Richard III) features an all-male company playing both male and female roles, as was the custom in the Bard's day. Other traditional details include music performed live on Elizabethan-era instruments in a gallery above the Balasco Theatre's stage and stage lighting supplied almost exclusively by some 100 candles.
