New Jersey's
Paper Mill Playhouse is alive with the sound of
The Sound of Music, starring
Ben Davis (a 2003 Tony Honor recipient for being among the ensemble of
La Boheme) as Capt. von Trapp,
Elena Shaddow as Maria,
Chelsea Morgan Stock as Liesl,
Suzanne Ishee as Mother Abbess and "American Idol" finalist Anthony Fedorov as young suitor Rolf. Based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic — with book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse — tells the story of a postulant-turned-governess who brings music and joy into the lives of the seven children of a widowed Austrian naval captain, even as a Nazi invasion looms.
James Brennan directs and choreographs the production. For more, click
