Composer Ricky Ian Gordon has written musicals, operas, song cycles and stage revues. Here, he lends his talents to pianist Anthony de Mare's "Liaisons: Re-Imagining Sondheim From the Piano." This three CD box set consists of Stephen Sondheim songs with new, reworked and imaginative arrangements provided by a host of composers. In this exclusive video, Gordon invites de Mare to his home to talk about the inspiration for his arrangement of "Every Day a Little Death" from A Little Night Music, then de Mare takes to the piano to give a sample of the "primordial" interpretation.
