Inspired by the Oscar-winning film of the same name, the new musical An American in Paris features a book by Craig Lucas and a score comprised of George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin songs ("I Got Rhythm," "'SWonderful,") and orchestral pieces ("Concerto in F," "2nd Prelude"). In the story, a World War II veteran (Robert Fairchild) journeys to Paris to become a painter. But when he falls in love a beautiful shopgirl (Leanne Cope), it becomes clear that he has competition for her affection. Performances begin March 13. See show details.
