SYNOPSIS: A burlesque troupe and a "serious" opera company are forced to perform simultaneously for the richest man in Vienna, with the burlesque girls offering comic relief in the story of Ariadne, abandoned by Theseus on the island of Naxos but soon the object of the god Bacchus's love, in Richard Strauss's opera.
