DESCRIPTION
The Greenhouse Ensemble — an Upper West Side–based theater company dedicated to community engagement and the growth of artists — is seeking new company members.
Founded in 2013, Greenhouse is now in an exciting moment of transition as we move into our new theater space at 99th and Amsterdam and expand our programming. We’re looking for performers, creators, and collaborators who are seeking an artistic home and interested in helping shape the next chapter of our work.
We welcome applications from actors, devisers, writers, musicians, filmmakers, and visual artists of all backgrounds, ages, and experience levels.
Members of the Greenhouse Ensemble receive:
-Weekly actor training in Michael Chekhov technique
-Preferential casting in Greenhouse Ensemble mainstages and other productions, including films, workshops, and readings
-An artistic community and, when available, access to a large theater/rehearsal space on the Upper West Side (company members may submit proposals for use of the space for personal projects through a formalized process)
-Opportunities to contribute to new work development or engage in our educational and outreach work
-A voice in company programming and overall direction
Audition & Submission Process
To be considered for an audition appointment, please submit a headshot and resume (or brief bio) to [email protected]. Auditions are scheduled based on mutual availability and can consist of whatever best showcases your talents: a monologue, song, scene, dance, piece you wrote, or any other artistic work.UNION
