Position:

Full Stop Technical Director

Overview:

The Technical Director is responsible for working across the Full Stop brands with all team members, contractors, clients and IP holders. You will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating and leading all aspects of the technical production process. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that each technical aspects of the project runs smoothly from conception to completion, meeting artistic standards, budgetary constraints, and deadlines. You will collaborate closely with directors, designers, technical staff, performers, venues, IP Holders, clients and producers to bring the technical creative vision to life while managing the logistical details and overall vision.

Reporting Structure:

The Technical Director will report directly to the Director of Production. As a key member of Full Stop Productions team, this position will collaborate closely with the co-owners, clients, employees, contractors, vendors, stake holders, producers, designers, and other Creative Team members to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

· Technical Planning and Scheduling:

o Work closely with technical and creative teams, producers, venue, IP Holder’s, clients and other stakeholders to understand and contribute to the creative vision and technical requirements for each production.

o Develop and coordinate the overall, build, install/strike, rehearsal and operations schedules and timelines.

o Manage scheduling conflicts and ensure efficient use of resources, including venue space, equipment, and personnel.

· Technical Production Oversight:

o Create and modify technical drawings, build drawings, take offs, install packages, mark ups, and documentation

o Collaborate with the creative team, designers, shops, IP Holder’s and clients to execute technical elements of the production, including but not limited to scenic, props, rigging, lighting, audio, video, costumes, special effects, automation and more.

o Coordinate and oversee the integration of all technical elements into each project.

o Troubleshoot technical issues during all phases of the production and ensure that all technical elements are properly planned, installed, maintained and operated.

· Budget Management:

o Working with the producers and clients to develop and manage technical and creative budgets.

o Create RFP’s, bid sheets, and negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and personnel to ensure cost-effective solutions for the production without compromising artistic integrity and vision.

o Monitor expenses throughout the process and propose and implement cost-saving measures or value engineering when necessary and appropriate.

· Logistics and Operations:

o Plan, attend and run production meetings, site visits, shop visits, installs, rehearsals, shows, strikes and, events as needed as the Technical Director, travel will be required

o Coordinate all logistical aspects of the production, including transportation, trucking, shipping, storage, lodging, and catering.

o Manage and document the procurement process, maintenance plans and all technical documentation required for the smooth operation of the production including but not limited to all technical elements, rehearsals, install and strikes, operations and logistics.

o Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the technical process, identifying and addressing potential hazards.

· Team Coordination:

o Working with the producers, to hire and supervise additional technical staff and crew as needed for varying projects

o Foster a collaborative and positive working environment, ensuring effective communication and teamwork among all technical team members.

o Lead production meetings, builds, installs and strikes for various projects including live shows, parades, museums, marketing activations, conventions, and more.

o Provide guidance and support to team members, addressing any concerns or challenges that arise during build, installation, rehearsals, operations and strike.

· Business Development

o Work closely with the Executive Producers to secure and finalize business deals on behalf of the Full Stop brands.

o Assist in building long term relationships on behalf of the Full Stop brands with new and existing clients

o Promote the company’s products, services and make suggestions for opportunities and new development

Qualifications and Skills:

· Bachelor's degree in Technical Theater Production, Arts Management, or related field (or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience).

· Proven experience in technical management (touring, theme park or cruise ships preferred), with a strong understanding of the technical process from concept to performance and a familiarity with technical aspects of theatrical production, including rigging, stagecraft, lighting, sound, video and scenic, automation and special effects.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.

· Ability to produce, revise and read technical drawings in AutoCAD (Vectorworks or Rhino preferred but not required), and other technical programs including BIM.

· Strong leadership, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate, lead and guide the production while working with diverse teams and stakeholders.

· Knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles, with experience managing and tracking technical budgets and expenses.

· Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and draft instructions and notes in various formats and software including but not limited to technical drawings, bid sheets, contracts and other business and technical documents.

· Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, often under pressure and tight deadlines.

· Flexibility and adaptability to work in a variety of situations and conditions.

· In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, Asana, and file sharing platforms.

· Ability to work and live in Tampa Bay FL, with US Work Authorization

· Ability to travel worldwide for extended periods of time based on the technical needs of the production.

· Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by technical schedules.

· Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment and set pieces, walk and stand for extended periods of time.

· Knowledge of union regulations and collective bargaining agreements (where applicable) is a plus.

· International technical knowledge is a plus

As a Technical Director, you will serve as a pivotal figure in bringing the clients artistic vision to life. Your combination of organizational, managerial, and technical skills will ensure the successful execution of each production, expanding the brand and quality of Full Stop Productions.

Travel:

The nature of the position will require travel. Travel expectations will vary based on the specific needs of projects, clients, or business development activities. Employees in this role should be prepared for both domestic and international travel, as necessary.

Pay and Benefit Structure:

· U.S. Work Authorization is required, we are not able to obtain visas or other work authorization for this position

· Annual Salary in USD based on experience.

o Payroll will be bi-weekly in arrears.

· 2 weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) , plus designated company holidays, paid.

o If a holiday falls on a production related workday or weekend, then an alternate date will be selected

· Health Insurance

o Employer contribution to Medical, Eye and Dental plan.
