DESCRIPTION

The Growing Stage- The Children’s Theatre of New Jersey is seeking Non-Union stage managers to apply for an available paid position for our production of Nate the Great Musical. Weekend and weekday performances May 1-21, 2026.

Must have an interest in Theatre for Young Audiences as all stage management positions at The Growing Stage involve direct interaction with young people. Paid position.

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and Google Drive applications.

• Previous experience with QLab preferred.

• Have a proactive work ethic, paying attention to detail and follow-through in a timely fashion.

• Maintains a professional demeanor.

• Available to work nights and weekends, attending all rehearsals and performances.

Compensation:

$17/hr for Rehearsals (includes 30 minutes before rehearsal begins)

$125/Performance

Nate The Great Musical runs May 1-21

(Rehearsal period is generally 4-5 weeks prior to performances.)

About The Growing Stage:

The Growing Stage Theatre is located in Netcong, New Jersey and no regular mass transportation is available. Own transportation is strongly recommended. Our company is housed in the Historic Palace Theatre, which was built in 1919 with an audience size of approximately 250. As The Children’s Theatre of NJ, our mission is to nurture the development of the performing arts through education — and to create, produce and perform works that engage the entire family.
