About the SHOW:

Seeking femme-performers to sing or perform a variety act for our annual cabaret: Her Voice, Her Choice on March 8th at Haswell Green’s on 52nd St in Manhattan.

The set will feature a curated mix of musical theater and pop styles, with group numbers and variety acts (comedy, drag, clowning, puppetry, dance, etc.), and will raise money for the following charities:

The Lilith Fund: Provides financial assistance and emotional support while building community spaces for people who need abortions in Texas. https://www.lilithfund.org/

INCIID: a Nonprofit organization that helps individuals and couples explore family-building options. They provide current information and immediate support regarding the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infertility and pregnancy loss, and offer guidance to those considering adoption or childfree lifestyles. https://www.inciid.org/

The cabaret will be livestreamed on Youtube and footage will be given to all performers.

About the PROCESS:

Performers are expected to attend two short rehearsals, a sitz probe with our musicians, a sound check day of, and the evening performance. Additional rehearsals may be requested as necessary, but we’re happy to work around busy schedules. Each singer can expect to be in at least two songs and will have a solo moment or full solo song.

Performers are strongly encouraged to participate in marketing for our show either via social media or personal outreach. Empowering women in their reproductive health is very important to us and we hope to make a contribution to our charities that will reflect that.

Please send a headshot, resume, and a video that reflects your talents as a singer/performer to [email protected]. A two-minute reel is perfect. We encourage you to include ideas of songs, anecdotes or a reason why you’d like to support this cause if you would like. There will not be a callback process. We will reach out to you directly to confirm a place on our cast, so please be sure your submission includes everything you’d like us to see.

About The Fortnight Project:

The Fortnight Project began as a Zoom group for femme-identifying performers to reconnect and re-experience the joy of performing in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since our beginning in 2021, the joy we’ve found has empowered us to produce our own work in a space that allows for true collaboration, where performers are valued and empowered. Our mission is to create feminist spaces and theater works that foster sisterhood and empower performing artists.
