DESCRIPTION

The Boomerang Theatre Company (Artistic Director: Tim Errickson) seeks a highly organized and resourceful Production Manager for our upcoming outdoor production of William Shakespeare's RICHARD II, directed by Aimee Todoroff.

Join our dynamic team, including Costume Designer Stefanie Genda and Associate Producer Amy Lau Croyle, to bring this classic play to life under the open sky in the heart of Central Park.

About the Production:

  • Play: RICHARD II by William Shakespeare
  • Director: Aimee Todoroff
  • Location: Central Park, New York City (Outdoor)
  • Performance Dates: June 21st – July 20th, 2025
  • Rehearsals: May 17th, 2025 – June 20th, 2025 (AEA Showcase)
  • Pre-Production: Begins April 15th, 2025

Responsibilities:

Production Coordination:

-Develop and maintain a comprehensive production calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met.
-Schedule and facilitate regular production meetings, disseminating information effectively.
-Coordinate all technical rehearsals, fittings, and other production-related appointments.
-Serve as the primary point of contact for all production-related communication.

Budget Management:

-Collaborate with the Associate Producer and designers to create and manage the production budget.
-Track expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
-Process invoices and payments in a timely manner.

Technical Oversight:

-Oversee all technical aspects of the production.
-Work closely with designers to ensure their visions are realized within budgetary and logistical constraints.
-Problem-solve technical challenges that arise during pre-production, rehearsals, and performances.
-Ensure all needed permits are in place for an outdoor production in Central Park.

Team Collaboration:

-Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
-Effectively communicate with all members of the production team.
-Provide support and guidance to designers and other production personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of theatrical production, including design, technical elements, and stage management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and track expenses.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Familiarity with outdoor theatre production logistics is highly desirable.
  • Passion for Shakespeare and a collaborative spirit.
