Theater 2020 is seeking a Music Director/Pianist to join their team for the upcoming production of A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, which begins rehearsals 3/9/26 and opens 4/16/26, running for 16 performances through 5/10/26. This will be a piano-only version and will be performed at the Mark O’Donnell Theater, 160 Schermerhorn Street, in Downtown Brooklyn. The show’s director and set designer will be David Fuller, with choreography by Judith Jarosz, lighting by Giles Hogya and costumes by Robert Jay Pugh.

In addition to playing performances, the Music Director will play all auditions, collaborate on casting and of course teach the music and play at rehearsals.

Open auditions are Saturday 2/7, 4-9 pm and Sunday 2/8, 2-7 pm with callbacks Saturday 2/14, 4-9 pm and Sunday 2/15, 2-7 pm.

Rehearsals are at ART/NY 138 South Oxford Street, 3/9 to 4/10: Monday, (Tuesdays are OFF), Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 6:30-10 pm; Saturdays 4-9 pm; Sundays 2- 7 pm.

Tech rehearsals are at the Mark O’Donnell Saturday and Sunday 4/11 & 4/12 noon-10pm.

Dress rehearsals are the evenings of 4/14 & 4/15.

Theater 2020, now in its 15^th season, produces under the Actors’ Equity Showcase NYC Agreement. Per union rules, the Music Director/Pianist will receive a stipend. This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking to gain entry into the NY theater community – many of our artists have successfully moved forward in their profession, including Broadway, after working with Theater 2020.
