(Actors should be age 18+ but still believable as high schoolers.)
4 Male-identifying actors:
BEAU: Baritenor (Bb2-E4; rock falsetto to A4) Any ethnicity, from a dysfunctional, wealthy family, a former athlete with a bad attitude. Has a tattoo on his neck. KATIE’s boyfriend and father of her unborn child. We wonder if he could be the shooter. Age 16.
COLE: Tenor (C3-G4) Any ethnicity, gay, talented, big personality, theatre star of the school, popular, thought he had the world on a string until the shooting. Also loves nature and birdwatching. Age 17.
RYAN: Tenor (solo: C3-G4). From a white working class family with right wing political views. Fell in love with Charlotte and had started thinking differently from his family. He was an athlete before the shooting, which seriously wounded him -- he enters the gathering with a cane. Age 17.
VERNELL: Baritenor (Bb2-E4 plus falsetto to Ab) Any ethnicity. An earnest, entertaining tech genius with a crush on COLE. So smart he skipped a grade. Barely 14.
2 Female-identifying actors:
We are searching for SWINGS/UNDERSTUDIES for the following:
BILLIE/CHARLOTTE track:
• BILLIE: Mezzo soprano – (solo: G#3-C#5) Black American. Smart, leader/activist, reliable, a perfectionist who suffers from feeling she’s never good enough. Age 16.
• CHARLOTTE: Mezzo/belt (G3-C#5) Any ethnicity. Bubbly. Likes theatre makeup and costumes. In a state of denial since the shooting. Wants to get back with her boyfriend, RYAN.

• MAKALA: Soprano (solo: B3-E5) Any ethnicity. Creative, musical, best friends with KATIE and BILLIE but feels like third wheel. Has been suffering a depression since the shooting. Age 16
