SEEKING

Equity actors for General auditions for Golden Thread Productions' 2026 Season. Actors auditioning for General Auditions may be considered for roles in the 2026 programs and mainstage production (New Threads readings series and ReOrient Festival of Short Plays).

Actors of all ages, races, genders, ability and experience levels are welcome.

We are a company focused on the Middle East, so we do have numerous roles in productions and staged readings for actors of Middle Eastern heritage.

Actors looking to showcase physical movement experience, such as clowning; dance; ensemble, devised work; and musicians are encouraged to audition.

Local (Bay Area) actors are encouraged to audition.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a two-minute monologue that showcases your vocal, physical, and emotional range.

SYNOPSIS: A baker, a mystic, and a falcon walk into an office one stormy night… Rabia Haddad is on a mission to discover a lost history. But as she builds her map, the archive begins to talk back, blurring the lines between testimony, memory and myth. Could it be that the one story she needs most is her own? A play about inheritance, letting go, and the desire to belong to something larger than yourself, A Country Made of Salt invites us to reflect on the stories we keep — and what stories keep us.
