Role Summary

The Front of House Manager is the bridge between the production and the audience. You’ll oversee all audience-facing operations, from pre-show arrival to post-show engagement. You’ll hire, train, schedule and manage FOH staff, coordinate with production and technical teams, and ensure every guest feels part of the world we’ve created. Your leadership will directly impact the flow, energy, and safety of the entire experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all front-of-house operations including guest check-in, audience flow, and space readiness.

  • Hire, Train, Schedule and Manage FOH staff, including ushers, greeters, and audience guides

  • Liaise with Box Office Manager to prepare FOH staff and production teams for unique consideration per performance (Groups, AEA needs, etc.)

  • Ensure guests are welcomed, briefed, and immersed into the experience with clarity and excitement.

  • Manage crowd control and timing to align with the performance schedule and narrative pacing.

  • Liaise closely with stage management, production, and creative teams for seamless transitions and show cues.

  • Respond to audience needs, feedback, or emergencies with professionalism and calm.

  • Maintain safety standards and handle any issues with discretion and efficiency.

  • Conduct pre-show and post-show FOH briefings with staff.

  • Manage ticketing software, guest lists, and communication with box office personnel.

  • Uphold the immersive atmosphere from the moment guests enter to the moment they leave.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in a FOH or audience services management role, preferably in immersive or non-traditional theater.

  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.

  • Confident communicator with a warm, guest-first attitude.

  • Calm under pressure and adaptable in live performance environments.

  • Familiarity with ticketing platforms and basic Fire Alarm/AV/lighting/safety protocols a plus.

  • Be a holder of, or willing to get, all necessary fire guard, or security certifications.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and during tech/performance periods.

Bonus Skills

  • Background in performance, stage management, or themed entertainment.

  • Experience with immersive/interactive audience formats.

  • First aid certification, Fire Guard certification or emergency response training.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Capability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

  • Able to go up and down stairs

  • Comfortable working in various conditions, including outdoor and high-noise environments.

Compensation & Benefits

Project Erik will provide a yearly salary of ($70,000), and monthly nontaxable health insurance stipend of ($500).
