Freedom House Theatre Company is seeking both Ensemble and Principal Musicians for its 2025 season in Pittsburgh, PA. Musicians will work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary ensemble, collaborating with dancers, actors, and writers to perform live music for original productions, Lab Sessions, and touring events.
Principal Musicians will take on featured roles, help shape the musical direction of each project, and may contribute original compositions or arrangements. Ensemble Musicians will provide core musical support across rehearsals and performances, with opportunities for creative collaboration throughout the season.
All positions are W-2 salaried roles with livable wages and include health insurance, retirement/unemployment benefits, artistic development stipends, paid touring/performance stipends, and instrument insurance for rehearsal and performance use.
Musicians from diverse backgrounds and training paths are strongly encouraged to apply. Multi-instrumentalists are especially welcome.
Deadline to Submit Video Audition: April 26, 2025 (11:59 PM EST)
In-Person Audition (Finalists): One day between May 19–24, 2025
Start Date: August 2025
Contract Duration: August 2025–July 2026, with compensation continuing through the summer break months of June and July.
