Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre
Audition Location: Ripley-Grier Studios (New York, NY) 3/18
We are seeking talented actors for an upcoming production of Driving Miss Daisy at Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre in Hudson, Florida. This Pulitzer Prize-winning play explores themes of race, friendship, and aging with humor and depth.
ROLES:
Daisy Werthan (Female, 70s, White) – A proud, independent, and sharp-witted Jewish widow living in Atlanta. Though initially stubborn, she gradually forms a deep bond with her chauffeur, Hoke.
Hoke Colburn (Male, 50s-70s, Black) – A patient, kind, and dignified chauffeur who values respect and integrity. He navigates Daisy’s initial resistance with humor and wisdom, forming a lifelong friendship with her.
Boolie Werthan (Male, 40s-50s, White) – Daisy’s supportive but pragmatic son, who balances his mother’s strong personality with his own responsibilities as a businessman.
IMPORTANT DATES:
• Callbacks: Invitation only at Ripley-Grier Studios (NYC) on Tuesday, March 18th, from 1:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Rehearsals Begin: May 26th
• Opening Night: June 6th Closing July 13th
