DESCRIPTION

Broadway Workshop & Project Broadway are seeking student actors ages 13-19 for the Main Stage production of CARRIE: The Musical. The Main Stage production features professional level costumes, sets, lighting, live orchestra and expert sound design. Productions are staged by esteemed musical theater professionals and leave audiences and students raving.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Carrie White is a teenage outcast who longs to fit in. At school, she’s bullied by the popular crowd, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she’s dominated by her loving but cruelly controlling mother. What none of them know is that Carrie’s just discovered she’s got a special power, and if pushed too far, she’s not afraid to use it.

CARRIE: The Musical will feature performers between the ages if 13-19. Broadway Workshop and Project Broadway are dedicated to providing professional training experiences that are both educational and truly awe inspiring for audiences. The Production will take place at the Baruch Performing Arts Center with rehearsals taking place at Ripley Grier Studios. All participation is by audition only.

LIVE AUDITION DATES:
Sunday January 10 – 10AM-4PM
Sunday January 11 – 10AM-11AM

CALLBACKS:
Sunday January 11– 12PM-4PM

REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals begin on SUNDAY MARCH 7 (All rehearsals take place on weekend afternoons). TECH: April 27-April 30

PERFORMANCES:
Friday May 1 (cast A) – 8PM,
Saturday May 2 (Cast B) – 8PM
Sunday May 3 (Cast A) – 12PM
Sunday May 3 (Cast B) – 5PM

LOCATIONS:
Rehearsals: All rehearsals take place at Ripley Grier Studios – 520 8th Ave @36th St.
Tech/Performances: Baruch Performing Arts Center – Nagelberg Theater – 55 Lexington Ave (Between Lex & 3rd Ave)

In person Auditions: January 10 & 11 2026 at Ripley Grier Studios – 520 8th Ave
In person Callbacks will take place at Ripley Grier Studios – 520 8th Ave on Sun. January 11, 2026 beginning at 12PM.

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR YOUR AUDITION
Students should prepare 32 bars cut (around 1 minute) of a musical theater song in the style of the show. All movement/dance will take place at callbacks. Please have sheet music in the correct key (that you sing your song in). A pianist will be present but can not transpose your songs to different keys. Music should be 3 hole punched and in a binder. Please also bring a recent photo (and resume if possible).

TUITION
Students cast in the Main Stage pay a $1095 registration fee. There is no cost to audition. Payment plans are available. Students needing financial aid should fill out a scholarship form through PROJECT BROADWAY before their audition. A limited number of need based scholarships will be available to students who qualify.
