The DreamCatcher Theatre and Adrienne Arsht Center production of the award-winning Stephen Sondheim-James Lapine musical Into the Woods plays Miami, FL. The production, which features Tituss Burgess in a gender-bending turn as The Witch, stars Arielle Jacobs (In the Heights) as The Baker's Wife. Jacobs shares a day in the life!

Now in costume, rolling my hair down into a low bun (over one of those spongey donuts)... but what's that pink note on my mirror?
OH look... Marina Pires (Rapunzel) and Annemarie Rosano (Cinderella- covered in ashes) are pointing to this note that says...
Ahh! I've been written up for being a bad actor! Just kidding. Marina gave "fake write-ups" to all the ladies in the dressing room. ;)
Work it out ladies! Elaine Flores (Lucinda) and Kelsey Flynn (Sleeping Beauty, and understudy Stepsisters/Cinderella's mother/Baker's Wife) strike a pose backstage.

The orchestra pit is less of a "pit" than a "line of musicians" along the backstage crossover.

Ohhh I see! Justin John Moniz (Cinderella's Prince/The Wolf) gets dressed with the help of our wardrobe assistant Kadian, while Elizabeth Dimon (Granny) looks on.
Oh no! Don't eat Granny!!!! Justin John Moniz (The Wolf/Cinderella's Prince) sneaks up on Elizabeth Dimon (Granny) backstage.
Green Room chillin'. Cast members hang out during the show. Whoa... Rapunzel's hair looks like a big yellow heart.
Pretty faces in pretty wigs! "Stepsisters" Cristina Flores* (Florinda) and Elaine Flores* (Lucinda), with Marina Pires (Rapunzel). *note - the Flores sisters are NOT actually sisters, they just play sisters onstage.
Gotta have my sour gummies! I'm obsessed. I eat them throughout every show.

Intermission faces. Elaine Flores (Lucinda), Elizabeth Dimon (Granny/ the voice of the Giant), myself (with pregnancy belly), Laura Hodos (Stepmother), JJ Caruncho (Baker) and Marina Pires (Rapunzel).

This guy saved the day. Our incredible Assistant Stage Manager, Barry Marks, called the show tonight for the first time, at last minute's notice. He did a stellar job and we are proud of him.
Elizabeth Dimon (Granny) shows off her needlepoint... as grannys often do. :)
And Laura Turnbull (Jack's mom) has equally talented handiwork!
Oh my goodness... Surprise attack! Wayne LeGette (Narrator/Mysterious Man) has just been ambushed by the hoop-skirt clan (Laura Hodos, Cristina Flores, and Elaine Flores).
Tituss Burgess is one sexy Witch.
And I get to snuggle up close to him backstage. #beJealous.
Or even MORE jealous.... This royal stud is a good kisser too. Just sayin'.
Working out my arms backstage is a daily ritual, directly after my onstage demise. Tonight I'm joined by Laura Hodos (Stepmother).
Love this pretty girl! Annette Navarro plays Snow White, and understudies the Stepsisters, Cinderella, and Little Red.
Uhhhh what is that?
Friends sneaking in! Matthew Janisse (Rapunzel's prince), Annette Navarro (Snow White), and Roland Rusinek (Steward) getting buddy-buddy.
Oscar Cheda (Cinderella's father) is crying because his wife, Jeni Hacker (Cinderella's mother) is now dead and lives in tree.
But they sure were happy "once upon a time."
Lights Out! Our stage, after the curtain comes down, with the sole ghost-lamp.
Post-show... exiting into the lobby of our theatre to greet the audience.... and then Time to go home!
We made it. Home sweet Home.
Time to say goodbye..... Thanks for joining me on this day "Into the woods and Out of the woods, and home (after) dark."
Wash face. Check. Brush teeth. Check. PJs. Check... (head hits pillow). Goodnight world!
