The Cleveland Play House opens the world premiere of the new comedy Bright Ideas by Eric Coble, Oct. 18. The production, which plays the Drury Theatre, will continue through Nov. 10 at the Ohio venue.

Bright Ideas follows the parents of a three year-old boy who is next on the waiting list for one of the best pre-schools, Bright Ideas Early Childhood Development Academy. The modern couple are one dinner party away from acceptance in this dark comedy by the hometown playwright.

David Colacci directs a cast that includes Susan Ericksen, Andrew May, Elizabeth Rainer, Kate Hodge and Chip DuFord. The creative team features Pavel Dobrusky (set and lights), Amanda Whidden (costumes) and Robin Heath (sound).

The rest of the 2002-03 season includes Ernest Thompson's On Golden Pond (Nov. 12-Dec. 8), Proof by David Auburn (Jan. 7-Feb. 2, 2003), Crumbs from the Table of Joy by Lynn Nottage (Feb. 4-Mar. 9, 2003), David Edgar's adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Feb. 25-April 6, 2003), Claudia Shear's signature Dirty Blonde (April 8-May 4, 2003) and The Blue Room, David Hare's free adaptation of Arthur Schnitzler's La Ronde (April 29-May 25, 2003).
