Grab your best threads and watch out for pursed lips, because it looks like there's a lot of Devil Wears Prada on the horizon.

The hit 2006 film has already spawned a stage musical that made its world premiere in Chicago in 2022 and is currently readying a West End bow that begins later this year. But a report in Puck reveals there might be more to expect from the franchise on screen as well.

Disney is reportedly developing a sequel to the film with its original screenwriter, Aline Brosh McKenna. The still in-development story would catch up with the infamously tough Runway editor Miranda Priestly (originally played by Meryl Streep) as traditional print publishing is in decline, with Priestly ultimately finding herself with tables turned and up against former assistant Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), who is now heading a luxury group that Priestly would love to sign as an advertiser. Whether the project will be able to get its A-list original cast back remains to be seen.

Both the 2006 film and the current musical version are based on a 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger, who found inspiration from her own time working as a personal assistant of Anna Wintour. The musical version features a score by Tony winners Elton John and Shaina Taub and a book by Kate Wetherhead. Vanessa Williams is currently starring as Miranda Priestly in the pre-West End tryout.
