Anyone who has seen an episode of 30 Rock can probably sing Tony Award nominee Jeff Richmond's theme song (all those doo's!)—but probably no one could sing it as well as Mean Girls' stars Kerry Butler and Kyle Selig, who do just that in the video above.
In celebration of their show's 12 Tony nominations (including one for Richmond's score), Butler and Selig came to the Playbill Studios to sing a few more of his now-iconic songs, from Jenna Maroney's "Muffintop" to Titus Andromedon's "Peeno Noir." Plus, fellow Mean Girls cast member Tee Boyich, the voice behind the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt theme song drops by to help!
The musical adaptation of Mean Girls, now in performances on Broadway, officially opened April 8 at the August Wilson Theatre. The show features music by Tony Award nominee Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Tony nominee Nell Benjamin, direction/choreography by Tony nominee Casey Nicholaw and a book by Tony nominee Tina Fey. Leading the cast is Erika Henningsen (Les Misérables) as new girl in school Cady Heron (played on screen by Lindsay Lohan). Bringing the Plastics, the vicious clique Heron infiltrates, are Tony nominee Taylor Louderman (Kinky Boots) as queen bee Regina George, Tony nominee Ashley Park (Sunday in the Park with George) as Gretchen Wieners, and Kate Rockwell (Rock of Ages) as Karen Smith.
The company also includes Butler as Ms. Norbury/Mrs. Heron/Mrs. George, Tony nominee Grey Henson as Damian, Cheech Manohar as Kevin Gnapoor, Selig as Aaron Samuels, Barrett Wilbert Weed as Janis Sarkisian, and Rick Younger as Mr. Duvall.
