The Actors Fund's annual gala is held May 14 at the New York Marriott Marquis, where the Fund's Medal of Honor will be bestowed upon four artists.
The evening celebrates Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker Warren Beatty; Tony-winning director Kenny Leon, currently represented on Broadway with the revival of Children of a Lesser God; two-time Tony winner Chita Rivera; and Oscar nominee Uma Thurman, who made her Broadway debut this season in The Parisian Woman.
The event begins at 6 PM with cocktails followed by a 7 PM dinner and tribute. Special guests—many of whom will perform—include Annette Bening, Carolee Carmello, Robert Creighton, John Doyle, Andrew Garfield, Mandy Gonzalez, Denise Gough, Kathryn Grody, Barry Levinson, Beth Malone, Laurie Metcalf, David Morse, Mandy Patinkin, LaTanya Richardson, Lauren Ridloff, Ben Vereen, and Barrett Wilbert Weed.
“It’s fitting that The Actors Fund honors Warren Beatty, Kenny Leon, Chita Rivera and Uma Thurman, four legends of the film, theater and dance worlds,” said Brian Stokes Mitchell, Chairman of The Actors Fund, in an earlier statement. “Their artistry represents the best of our industry, and they are individuals who lead with their heart, showing boundless compassion for those in need in our entertainment and performing arts community.”
